Welcome to Tottenham Park Islamic Cemetery Association
We are a volunteer-led organisation providing burial services for the Muslim community of North and East London, offering burial plots for members and their families across two managed cemetery sites.
OUR SITES
Currently TPICA manages two sites within larger, privately owned cemeteries, Tottenham Park Cemeteries located in Montague Road, London Borough of Edmonton (Freehold) and Woodgrange Park Cemetery located off Romford Road, Manor Park, London Borough of Newham & Dagenham.
PURPOSE & ORIGINS
The Muslim community residing in North London (Stamford Hill/Stoke Newington/Clapton) migrated primarily from India, Gujarat (a state on the western coast) in the late 50’s early 60’s.
The communities were economic migrants seeking a better life away from the poverty they had been born into. The first generation’s intentions arriving in the UK were, to primarily earn a livelihood and extend financial support to their families and dependents back home. The dream of going back home and living a prosperous life was their long-term goal and aspirations.
